Virtual Caregiver Educational Workshops Offered In September

Anne Arundel County's aging and disabilities department will offer virtual caregiver educational workshops in September.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — The county department of aging and disabilities will host virtual caregiver educational workshops in September.

On Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 6:30 pm, Jennifer FitzPatrick, a social worker and founder of Jenerations Health Education, will present “Living Your Best Life As a Caregiver After the Stress & Drama of the Pandemic and Covid-19 Policies.”

"The past year and a half have been beyond traumatic. If you are struggling with feeling normal again you aren’t alone. Join us for this interactive program on addressing how to live your best life while taking care of your loved one and yourself going forward. This workshop will be held via the Zoom platform," the department stated.

On Sept. 8 at 2 p.m., Mary Chaput, family caregiver support program director, will facilitate the Virtual Dementia Live Program. This workshop is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory changes. This workshop will be held via the Zoom platform. Space is limited. Register for the workshop by calling 410-222-4339.

The workshops are presented at no cost to the public by the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
