Public officials from Baltimore and Carroll county fire companies, police departments and environmental protection groups will attend the event.
Baltimore pursued opportunities to provide drinking water beginning in the 1800s when it began to develop a central water system, the Baltimore Sun reported.
Liberty Reservoir didn’t come along until the summer of 1951 when construction began on the dam, the Sun reported. The reservoir was completed in September 1953 and filled with water a month later, according to the newspaper.
