2 Men Charged in Elkridge Spa Robbery

The men had also attempted to rob a spa in Jessup earlier that same night, police said.

Howard County police have charged two men in connection with a robbery and an attempted robbery of two spas along the Route 1 corridor.

Andre Hairston, 31, of 1827 Wycliffe Road in Parkville, and Antoine Dyson, 32, of 6838 Sturbridge Drive in Baltimore, each were charged with two counts of armed robbery, robbery, assault and theft.

The charges stem from two incidents that occurred on the same night, Sept. 3. Police were called to the Silk Spa in the 8600 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup around 8:30 p.m. for a report of an attempted robbery.

Hairston and Dyson entered the business posing as customers. According to police, witnesses reported Hairston displayed a folding knife and grabbed a female employee by the wrist, pushing her to the ground. Another employee attempted to flee, and Hairston slammed her arm in a door several times.

The two men left without taking anything from the business, police said. They drove off in a dark Dodge Durango bearing a Virginia tag, and witnesses provided the tag number to police.

In the second incident, police received a report of a robbery around 10:50 p.m. at the Oriental Spa in the 6300 block of Washington Boulevard in Elkridge.

Two men matching the descriptions of the Silk Spa suspects entered the business posing as customers. The suspects took a cash box from the office and fled in a dark Dodge Durango bearing a Virginia tag, according to police.

Both men are being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $1 million bond.
