30-Year-Old Killed, Trooper Injured In 5-Vehicle Crash: Police
One person was killed and three were hurt in the crash, which involved a state police trooper, authorities said.
ELKRIDGE, MD — A 30-year-old from Columbia was killed and three other people — including a Maryland state trooper — were injured in a five-vehicle crash overnight in Elkridge, according to police.
Saidou Zanguina, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was the driver of a Jeep Cherokee that struck a stationary unmarked patrol vehicle around 2 a.m. Sunday on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 95 north of State Route 100, authorities said.
The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to travel into the road, where it was struck by a GMC pickup, a Lincoln SUV and a Volkswagen, according to police.

A passenger in the Jeep, an on-duty trooper with the state police Waterloo Barrack and the driver of the pickup were all transported by ambulance to receive medical care, authorities said, adding the trooper was later released from the hospital.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, according to police.
