Toppled Truck Closes Inner Beltway at Route 1

An overturned tractor trailer spilled construction supplies across all three lanes of the I-695 beltway near Washington Boulevard in Lansdowne Thursday afternoon, shutting down the roadway to all westbound traffic.

The incident happened at around 12:41 p.m., according to Maryland State Police.

The tractor trailer had been carrying scaffolding, wood and other building materials. It came to rest on its side near the entrance ramp to Washington Boulevard.

There were no injuries from the incident, according to state police.
