Triathlon to Cause Delays Sunday Near Centennial Park
Several intersections on Route 108 will be closed to drivers during Athleta Iron Girl Triathlon.

Drivers near can expect to share the road with some 2,000 triathletes Sunday morning during the Athleta Iron Girl Triathlon.
From 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 19, between Ten Mills Road and Centennial Lane, Route 108 will be closed to westbound traffic, according to a statement from the Howard County Police Department.
Police officers will be directing traffic and temporarily closing roads to maintain biker safety during the race. The county anticipates delays on the following roads:
- Homewood Road
- Folly Quarter Road
- Carroll Mill Road
- Mt. Albert Road
- Cantor Lane
- Jumpers Hill Road
- Triadelphia Road
Triathlon participants will be given the right of way, according to police, who recommend motorists plan alternate routes or allow for extra time if driving in the area is necessary.
