'Calming Plans' For 2 Howard County Roads With Speeders Discussed At April 23 Meeting
Residents can learn more about "calming plans" to address excessive speeding on two busy roads in Howard County at an April 23 meeting.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A second meeting will be held April 23 starting at 5 p.m. to discuss the final plans to curb speeding along Furnace Avenue and Hanover Road.
The meeting will be held in the media room at Elkridge Elementary School.
The project establishes "calming plans" for the two roads where excessive speeding has been noticed. The project implements strategies in Howard County's Neighborhood Traffic Calming Policy.

"Neighborhood traffic calming is an important part of our efforts to ensure greater safety and accessibility on residential roadways across our community. This past year, we released our new traffic calming policy for Howard County and invested an additional $500,000 for implementation. Through these efforts, we are committed to working with our community to reduce speeding and promote transportation safety across Howard County," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.
