Man Charged With Child Porn Distribution

An Ellicott City man faces distribution of child porn charges. He pleaded guilty in 2014 to possession and distribution of child porn.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A Howard County sentenced in 2014 for child porn distribution and possession has again been charged with child porn distribution.

Brian Shaw, 35, of Ellicott City had at least eight photos and videos of child pornography on Snapchat, according to an affidavit filed Oct. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The case was filed in federal district court Monday, reported The Baltimore Sun.

His 2014 federal case judgement, however, stated that he could not have contact with anyone younger than 18 and he couldn't be near parks unless approved by a probation officer.

But investigators said they saw Shaw giving tennis lessons to a minor on Oct. 29 at Centennial Park West, which violated the conditions of his release. He pleaded guilty to distribution and possession of child porn in the 2014 case and was sentenced to seven years in federal prison with a lifetime of supervised release, in July 2014. He also was placed on the sex offender registry.

In that case, Shaw had in his possession 5,860 images and 562 videos of children engaged in sexually explicit content, a 2015 news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office stated.
