Brief Road Closure Anticipated During Jessup Construction Project This Summer
Drivers should be aware that a brief road closure will be needed this summer during a road project in Jessup.
JESSUP, MD — Drivers will need to make alternative plans when a stretch of road in Jessup will be briefly shut down for a construction project that started Monday.
The project targets an area near the intersection at Mission Road and Guilford Road, and includes removing the exposed manhole at Guilford/Pickett’s Branch stream-crossing, adding two new manholes along the sewer line and replacing 300 linear feet of existing pipe with 14-inch PVC pipe behind 9933 Guilford Road.
Weather permitting, the project should wrap up by late September 2025.

Signs have been posted to notify drivers and residents of the construction. Flagging operations will be in place as northbound Mission Road from the intersection will be closed during the middle phase of the project for one to two days, for two to four hours a day during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
