Star Student Athlete: HCC's Brittney Shines On, Off Softball Field

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Softball

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Brittney currently plays softball at Howard Community College. She keeps her grades in good standing and helps coach softball teams for Howard County Rec and Parks. Brit also manages the women’s soccer team and men’s basketball team and she helps keep the scorebook for women’s basketball at HCC. She is always ready to help or volunteer with anything asked and she always does it with a smile on her face. Staying active in sports is a huge part of her life.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

This girl works hard. Whether she is the best player on the field or is trying to earn her spot she is going to put in the same amount of effort. She takes pride in everything she does and I think that an amazing trait for anyone.
