Thursday Meeting To Highlight New Pedestrian-Bicycle Path Along Guilford Road

The public's invited to attend a meeting Thursday about a new pedestrian-bicycle path to be built along Guilford Road.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The community can attend a meeting Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. to discuss the third phase of a pedestrian and bicycle improvement project planned for along Guilford Road in Jessup.

The meeting will take place in the cafeteria of Bollman Bridge Elementary School in Savage.

The project stretches between Carroll Heights Avenue and Oakland Mills Road. It calls for a shared path for pedestrians and bicyclists, along with the installation of new street lighting, signs, roadway striping, landscaping and other improvements.

The goal of the project is to help create a safer travel path for bicyclists and pedestrian in the area of Guilford Park and the new Guilford Park High School.

"Our fiscal year 2025 operating budget includes $14.7 million to advance critical sidewalks, bike lanes, pathways and other Complete Streets infrastructure across Howard County. This investment includes $650,000 to the Guilford Road pedestrian/bicycle improvements project, which will help safely connect more of our neighbors in Jessup and Guilford," Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said.
