Chesapeake High Principal Promoted to Assistant Superintendent

Maria Lowry will become one of two high school assistant superintendents for Baltimore County Public Schools, effective July 1.

Chesapeake High School Principal Maria Lowry will leave the school this summer to take a job within the Baltimore County Public Schools system's top administration.

Effective July 1, Lowry will become an assistant superintendent of high schools, according to school system spokesman Charles Herndon.

The appointment was approved by the Baltimore County Board of Education at its March 19 meeting.

Herndon on Wednesday could not immediately provide the salary of Lowry's new position.
