Photo of the Day: Brave and Friendly Mallard

Essex resident Lynn Fisher often communes with nature in the comfort of her own waterfront backyard on the Back River Neck Road peninsula.

She enjoys shooting pictures of birds and enjoys feeding them.

Her most recent contribution to Patch is this photo of a mallard that didn't mind sharing Fisher's pier with her.

"This duck was sitting on my pier and let me get closer than usual," she said in an email to Patch.  "He just sat there and posed before jumping into the water."
