Three incumbents and two new directors were elected to Greenbelt Homes, Inc. (GHI) Board of Directors Friday night. The five elected to the board are Sue Ready, Frank DeBernardo, Ed James, Diana McFadden, and David Morse. Ready and DeBernardo were challengers. Irwin Wartell, an incumbent, lost his relection bid. A total of 204 votes were cast in the election. Both top vote-getters were not incumbents. Ready, who is a former member of the GHI Board, earned the most votes at 158. DeBernardo came in second with 146 votes. Seven GHI members ran for five seats that were open. The board consists of nine members in all, but four of the seats were not up for re-election in 2012. The voting started after GHI's annual membership meeting on Thursday night and continued into Friday night, when voting stopped at 8 p.m. .
