With a possible government shutdown on the horizon, I'm sure many are in need of a great escape.
The last time the government shut down, so did many of the federally-funded "non-essentials" like the National Zoo, the Smithsonians and the Lincoln and Washington monuments, so get away from the crowd of confused tourists this weekend and party for Yuri's Night.
One Greenbelter, , has been creating her signature cut-paper pieces for Yuri's Night for months.

Yuri's Night is a space-themed party that takes place all over the world to celebrate the first human in space (50 years ago), Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. The actual anniversary is April 12, but this Saturday is a party in Rosslyn, Va at the Artisphere from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Don't take kids to this event as it's for individuals 21 and older, expect a burlesque show, costume contest, a moon bounce and drinks and appetizers.
