Greenbelt Heroin Dealer Sentenced to 11 Years
A Greenbelt man was sentenced for a 2011 drug case.

A 38-year-old Greenbelt man was sentenced to 11 years in prison after her was convicted of dealing heroin.
According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Awal Mohammed was sentenced to 136 months in prison by U.S. District Judge James K. Bredar for conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin. Mohammed will be on five years of supervised release after he serves his sentence, the office stated.
Mohammed's 2011 trial revealed that when Maryland State Police stopped a car in which he was a passenger, they seized at least 971 grams of heroin in the glove compartment.
The heroin was brought in to the country from Ghana and was on route for sale in Baltimore, police said. Mohammed was known to have previously sold heroin.
