A look at the past week's events from Sept. 7 - 12.
Since starting the week on Tuesday with the launch of Greenbelt Patch, lots have happened.
The Labor Day events introduced Greenbelt to the latest recipient of the Citizen of the Year award winner James Giese and Miss Greenbelt, Deborah Fishbeck.
This week also saw a week of odd crimes, the still unsolved suspicious infant death and the hostage situation in Hyattsville that was actually a false alarm.

Schools had a busy post-holiday week with first PTA meetings and open houses at Greenbelt Elementary and Springhill Lake Elementary schools, respectively. The Eleanor Roosevelt High School Raiders beat the Laurel High School Spartans in a 36-0 blowout Saturday.
