Catholic Youth Rally, Pilgrimage To Begin Holy Week

A Palm Sunday youth rally and pilgrimage will be held at Wyman Park in Baltimore.

Baltimore Archdiocese Archbishop William Lori will attend this annual event, as well, according to a news release from the archdiocese.

The rally and Eucharistic Adoration begins at 11:15 a.m.

Then, "the procession of young people will depart at 1:40 p.m. with the pilgrims carrying palm and a 10-foot wooden cross along the 3-mile route," the release states.

The route is along N. Charles St., and ends at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, at 5300 N. Charles St., it states.

Following is the schedule, that will take place, rain or shine:

10:45          Registration opens at Wyman Park, located at W. 29th St. and N. Charles St. in Baltimore

11:15          Rally begins at Wyman Park

11:50          Pilgrims break into two groups and walk to Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, 2801 N. Charles St.**

1:40            Begin Pilgrimage Walk (Rosary will be prayed outside five churches on N. Charles Street)

3:10            Concert at Notre Dame of Maryland University

4:15            Begin walk to Cathedral of Mary our Queen

4:40            Arrive at Cathedral of Mary our Queen

5:00            Parish Liturgy begins with Archbishop

6:30            Departure

Archbishop Lori will carry the cross with young Catholics immediately following the conclusion of the rally, the release states.
