Blue Angels Return to Baltimore Next Year
The squadron will perform as part of the War of 1812 bicentennial celebrations next September.
The Blue Angels will be returning to Baltimore to perform as part of Star-Spangled 200, the bicentennial celebration of the War of 1812.
The Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron will be performing over Baltimore on Sept. 13 and 14, according to the schedule released Monday.
“Community outreach is key to connecting Americans to the military,” Blue Angels Commanding Officer and Flight Leader, Commander Thomas Frosch said in a news release. “Our performances provide a unique opportunity to inspire millions to connect with and support our service members, and we are looking forward to an exciting 2014 season.”

The Navy canceled the Blue Angels appearances in 2013 because of the across the board federal spending cut referred to as sequester.
The celebration will coincide with the dates the Battle of North Point and the Battle of Baltimore, which occurred between Sept. 12 and Sept. 14, 1814.
