DeMatha Closes Hoop Season With PVI Loss
For the second time this season, the Stags fell victim to the Panthers in a tight game.

The DeMatha Stags lost another close decision to Paul VI yesterday, falling 58-55 in front of a capacity crowd in Hyattsville.
The win caps off the first undefeated season by a WCAC team other than DeMatha in at least 50 years, speculated The Washington Post. Paul VI now boasts a 26-2 overall record, with a perfect 18-0 in the WCAC.
This is the second time this season that the Stags lost to Paul VI. They suffered a shocking, buzzer beating defeat to the Panthers on Jan. 28 in Fairfax, Va.

With the loss, DeMatha falls to 25-4 overall on the season, 15-3 in the WCAC.

DeMatha now prepares for the conference playoffs. They are seeded second behind Paul Vi. Seeded third and fourth are Gonzaga and St. Johns, respectively, according to The Sports Fan Network.
