Heritage Group Seeks Proposals for Grants
If you have an idea for a local heritage tourism project, there may be grant money available for it.

If you have an idea for a project which could boost area heritage tourism opportunities, then the Anacostia Trails Heritage Area wants to hear from you.
The Maryland Milestones program, run by the ATHA, is currently seeking letters of interest for a state grant program to fund heritage tourism projects. But you have to move fast, because time is running out. Organizers would like the letters by Friday, Jan. 27.
"We are unsure of our state allocation this year and need to present ideas - even if you don't write a full grant application - to the state," wrote ATHA Executive Director in an email. "This allows us to have a better understanding of those grants which might have the best chance of moving forward."
In the past, the program has granted funds for murals, signage, construction and landscaping projects.
Letters of interest may be submitted through an online form on the Maryland Milestone's website.
