Police: Suspect Arrested After Armed Carjacking from Mother and Child
The suspect turned himself in after being identified in the New Carrollton Metro carjacking, police report.

A suspect is in custody for the Dec. 7 armed carjacking at the New Carrollton Metrorail Station, according to the Metro Transit Police.
A woman was taking her child out of the back seat of her tan Toyota Rav4 around 5:30 a.m. when she was approached by the male suspect, Darius Andre Jennings, 20. He showed the victim a handgun and told her to leave her purse and take her child, police report. Jennings proceeded to steal the vehicle from the parking garage.
The Metro Transit Police obtained an arrest warrant for Jennings and revealed his name to the public a week ago. He surrendered to the police Tuesday morning, police report.

Jennings is expected to be charged with armed carjacking, carjacking, armed robbery, robbery, theft, and first-degree assault. He is being held in Washington, D.C.
