Retired Admiral & General Serves Up Lunch for Students in Hyattsville

Mission: Readiness is an organization that aims to strengthen national security by ensuring our kids future and education.

The retired military leaders, who are members of the nonprofit Mission: Readiness, are concerned about school nutrition because obesity is now the leading medical disqualifier from military service, with nearly 1 in 3 young Americans too heavy to serve. This visit highlighted the importance of helping schools upgrade their kitchen facilities so they can prepare and serve healthier meals.
