Some City Ball Fields Closed Due To Rain

Fields at , Melrose and 38th Avenue parks are closed this afternoon because of heavy amounts of rain.

"When it rains too much, we close the fields," said Abby Sandel, city spokeswoman, adding that it's damaging to have cleats on wet fields.

"Organized leagues that use city fields rely on us to call off games for weather reasons," she said.
