2 Dogs Rescued From Kensington House Fire By MoCo Fire Crews: Video
Montgomery County fire and rescue personnel removed two unconscious dogs from a burning home in Kensington on Tuesday morning.

KENSINGTON, MD — Personnel from the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service rescued and resuscitated two unconscious dogs pulled Tuesday morning from a smoke-filled home in Kensington, according to a department spokesman.
Multiple units responded to the 11100 block of Dewey Road off of Benfeld Avenue for the report of a fire in the basement of a two-story, single-family home, according to an 11:20 a.m. Twitter post from Pete Piringer, an MCFRS public information officer.
When the two dogs were removed from the home, crews were still working to extinguish the fire, according to an 11:44 a.m. tweet from Lt. Fransisco Martinez, another MCFRS public information officer.

Both dogs were unconscious, but firefighters were able to treat and resuscitate them, according to Piringer in a 11:54 a.m. Twitter post. They were then taken to a nearby emergency veterinarian for further treatment.
A mail carrier walking near the house spotted the smoke and called 911, according to Piringer's 12:01 p.m. Twitter post. No residents were home at the time of the fire.

MCFRS engines 5, 21, 18, 25 and 7 and trucks 18 and 25 responded to Tuesday's call for service on Dewey Road, according to Martinez.

Martinez captured the rescue of the two dogs on video, which he posted on Twitter.
