After-School Employee Arrested For Sexual Texts To Students

An employee at Kensington Parkwood Elementary School was arrested for allegedly sending sexually inappropriate texts to two boys.

KENSINGTON, MD — An after-school program employee at Kensington Parkwood Elementary School was arrested for allegedly sending sexually inappropriate text messages to two boys over the span of four years, Montgomery County Police said.

Christopher Steve Escobar, 27, of Germantown was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

Police said Escobar began texting two 9-year-old boys in August 2012. The victims were part of the Bar-T after-school program at Kensington Parkwood Elementary School, where Escobar was an employee, police said.

The texting allegedly continued until 2017, when the two males were about 14 years old, police said. The victims did not have knowledge of each other’s texting with Escobar.

Escobar was arrested at his residence on Thursday and transported to the Central Processing Unit. He is being held without bond.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Detectives are requesting that parents talk to their children about possible interactions with Escobar and contact SVID detectives at 240-773-5400 if they believe their child was victimized.
