Laurel Man Found Guilty In Heroin Conspiracy
Jeffery Okyere, 32, of Laurel was convicted by a federal jury for his role in a conspiracy to distribute heroin.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A Laurel man was convicted by a federal jury for his role in a conspiracy to distribute heroin, according to a release from the U.S. attorney for Virginia's eastern district.
Jeffery Okyere, 32, was found guilty of participating in a conspiracy to distribute heroin along with two co-conspirators.
According to court records and evidence presented at trial, Okyere acted as a local source of supply for a co-conspirator based in Texas. Okyere allegedly provided heroin on an as-needed basis to a local dealer on request.

Okyere faces a maximum of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 23, 2018.
