CA Man Faces Multiple Weapon Charges After Traffic Stop By MoCo Police
Montgomery County Police arrested a California man after finding a Glock 9mm handgun and ammunition during a traffic stop Friday.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — After making a traffic stop on Friday, Montgomery County Police arrested a California man for illegally possessing a Glock 9mm handgun and several rounds of ammunition, according to a police release.
Officers patrolling the Shady Grove Road area around 6:21 p.m., on Friday, noticed a silver 2020 Nissan Altima commit a traffic violation. They pulled the Nissan over near I-270 and Montgomery Village Avenue.
As the officers approached the Nissan, they made contact with one of its occupants, 30-year-old Walter Prince of Sherman Oaks, California. Police say the officers obtained probable cause and searched the vehicle, finding a Glock 9mm handgun attached to a kit that allowed the Glock to fire fully automatic, according to the release. They also found a loaded drum magazine, a 30-round magazine, two 10-round magazines., and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Police later determined that Prince was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a prior conviction in Virginia.
After arresting Prince, the officers took him to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, and charged him with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition related charges. Prince remains in custody without bond, according to police.
