Montgomery Village Shooting Kills 1, Injures Another; Suspect Wanted
Montgomery County Police have not identified a suspect in a shooting that prompted multiple calls in the area of an apartment complex.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Montgomery County Police are seeking leads in a fatal shooting that injured another in Montgomery Village Friday.
Police and fire had first responded around 12:26 p.m. Friday to the sound of gunshots in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle, which is the area of the Cider Mill Apartments. Officers then received a report of a shooting in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle. Police found an 18-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Around 12:49 p.m., police received another call about an unconscious man near the location in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. He was identified as Alan Garnica of Gaithersburg.

Police have not yet identified a suspect in the shooting. The investigation remains active.
The police department's Major Crimes Division is asking for surveillance footage or information to be reported to detectives at 240-773-5070.
