Teen Shot At Youth Football Game, Police Search For Suspect
A 17-year-old boy was taken to the hospital following the shooting at South Valley Park Saturday night.
MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Police are investigating a shooting that happened at a youth football game in Montgomery Village Saturday evening.
A 17-year-old boy was hit by a bullet and taken to an area hospital following the shooting at about 5:40 p.m. at South Valley Park in the 19000 block of Watkins Mill Road in Montgomery Village, Carlos Cortes, Public Information Officer of the Montgomery County Police Department, told Patch. The person sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Preliminary information gathered by police revealed the shooting happened between two groups of people, Cortes said. The 17-year-old boy was hit by a bullet and nearby vehicles were also struck by bullets.
No one was in custody as of late Saturday night, Cortes said. The incident is believed to be isolated in nature, and police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
