Adelberg, Rudow Attorneys, Robert Horne, C.J. Persson and Geoffrey Washington, Become “Members” of the Firm
Baltimore (July 1, 2014) –Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC announces that three of its attorneys − Robert M. Horne, C.J. Persson and Geoffrey W. Washington − have been elected to “Member” status in the Firm.

“Becoming a Member of Adelberg, Rudow is an exciting opportunity and a new challenge,” said Horne, who joined the Firm in 2005, after serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Orphans’ Court for Baltimore City. “I appreciate the Members’ confidence in me and recognition of my efforts, and I look forward to continuing to provide high quality service to our clients.”

Named a “Rising Star” in the estate planning and probate section of Maryland Super Lawyers in 2010, 2011 and 2012, Horne focuses in the areas of estates and trusts, tax and business transactions. His practice encompasses wills, trusts, estate planning; estate/trust administration; probate and estate/trust controversy; business succession planning; tax planning, and general business and corporate transactions.
Horne’s clients include professionals and entrepreneurs at all stages of their careers, from start-up through growth, acquisition, succession planning and, ultimately, retirement and the transition of their business.

A founding member and former vice chair of the Bar Association of Baltimore City’s Estates & Trusts Section, he currently co-chairs the Maryland State Bar Association ‘s (MSBA) Wills, Estates & Trusts Subcommittee to the Special Committee on Voir Dire, Estates & Trusts and is active in the MSBA’s Business and Estates & Trusts Young Lawyers' Sections.
Horne also is a member of the MSBA’s Estate and Gift Tax Study Group and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. Additionally, he serves as treasurer of the Campaign Committee for the Sitting Judges of the Orphans’ Court for Baltimore City and T-Ball age group coordinator for Towsontowne Youth Baseball.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in law and American civilization from Towson University, Horne earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. A Severna Park native, he currently resides in Hunt Valley with his wife, their two children and two rescue dogs.
C.J. Persson
“I am honored to become a Member of Adelberg, Rudow,” said Persson, who joined the Firm in 2010. “I have enjoyed working with such talented and respected professionals, and I look forward to continuing to help the law firm and our clients prosper in my role as Member.”
Bringing over 14 years of legal experience with 15 years of business management experience, Persson represents companies of all sizes and maturity in the health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, finance, beauty and retail industries. She provides counsel on a full spectrum of business issues including entity formation and private financing, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, importing and trade compliance, intellectual property protection, and tax.
Persson served as deputy general counsel at Fila U.S.A., Inc. She also managed the company’s Inbound Logistics and Customs Compliance Department and provided counsel to the company’s retail and ecommerce affiliates. Earlier, she was a corporate and tax associate at two downtown Baltimore law firms.
In addition to chairing the Bar Association of Baltimore City’s Business Law Committee, Persson is a member-at-large to the MSBA’s Business Law Section Council and a board member with Make Studio, Inc., a non-profit organization which seeks to “make art inclusive in Baltimore and put art and abilities to work.”
After graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor‘s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida, she earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law (where she was an associate editor of The Business Lawyer), followed by an LL.M. in Tax from the University of Baltimore School of Law. An Alexandria, Va., native, she now resides in Baltimore’s Locus Point community.
Geoffrey Washington
“I am very proud to have received this honor from my colleagues at Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf, & Hendler,” said Washington, who joined the Firm in 2009, after previously working as a litigation associate at three area law firms. “I look forward to continuing to uphold the confidence they have in me by serving our clients and helping them achieve their goals and objectives.”
A seasoned attorney with over 17 years of experience representing businesses and high net worth individuals in a variety of litigation matters, Washington concentrates his practice in complex civil litigation. He has litigated various claims, including business and shareholder disputes, construction and construction defect, intellectual property and personal injury defense. Additionally, he has substantial experience handling all phases of litigation in both state and Federal Courts.
Appointed by the Mayor as chairman of the Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals of Baltimore City in 2012, Washington also serves on the Board of the Baltimore Chapter of Lambda Alpha International and the Judicial Selection Committee of the Bar Association of Baltimore City. In addition, he is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association and Monumental City Bar Association and he previously chaired NAIOP Maryland’s Sustainability Committee.
Washington earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Georgetown University, followed by a Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Maryland School of Law. A Columbia, Md. native, he currently resides in Baltimore’s Federal Hill community with his wife and two daughters.
