Cats Rescued From Suspected Hoarding Situation In North Potomac
Authorities rescued over 60 cats from a suspected hoarding situation at a home in North Potomac Wednesday night, officials said.

NORTH POTOMAC, MD — Authorities were called to a North Potomac home to rescue dozens of cats from a suspected hoarding situation Wednesday night, officials said.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Hazmat crews and Montgomery County Police responded to the home in the 12300 block of Sweetbough Court at about 7:30 p.m.
Officials were called to evaluate the level of ammonia and exposures in the home, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Pete Piringer said.

Montgomery Community Media reports over 60 cats were found in the home, as well as a rabbit.
The cats have been evaluated and some needed medical treatment. None have been euthanized, according to Montgomery Community Media.

Officer Lavonia Byrd told Montgomery Community Media that no one has been charged yet.
Animal Control officials were also on the scene.
