Photos: Wootton HS Winter Athletes Meet The Coaches
Wootton High School hosted its seasonal "Meet the Coaches" dinner for winter athletes on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
The Wootton High School Booster Club hosted the school's seasonal "Meet the Coaches Dinner" (MTCD) on Nov. 30.
The dinner -- held once in the fall, winter, and spring -- gives parents, athletes and coaches the opportunity to meet before the season begins to discuss team expectations on and off the field or court, family commitment, and volunteer commitment, booster club president Leslie Dobbin said.
The coaches are present to answer any questions and after a dinner provided by the booster club, Dobbin said coaches meet individually with their teams and parents.

Besides promoting a fun social event, Dobbin said there are four key purposes of the MTCD:
- The boosters introduce the new families to the organization and its role at Wootton: to raise money to assist the athletic department in supporting all of the Wootton athletic programs.
- To inform parents of the ways in which they can support the athletes. One easy way is to join boosters and all of the funds go directly back to the program.
- The boosters share some of the ways that funds have been spent over the last five years, including locker room renovations, a training room, new stadium concession stand, stadium bathrooms, stadium signage, field covers, trophy cases, scoreboard in the gym, etc.
- Lastly, the athletic director talks about the rules for being eligible to play in the games and his 24 hour rule for parents. If parents have something they think they have to say to the coach, please wait 24 hours.
