Fly To Caribbean Island With New Flight Leaving From BWI Airport
A new flight from BWI Airport will offer daily service to a Caribbean island. Travelers can find one-way fares for less than $100.

LINTHICUM, MD — A budget airline added a new service from Maryland to Puerto Rico.
Frontier Airlines now flies from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Linthicum to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan.
The daily nonstop service started last Thursday.

One-way fares can be as low as $55 plus taxes and fees for members of the airline's discount club. Standard one-way fares start around $74 before additional charges.
Daniel Shurz, Frontier's senior vice president of commercial, cheered the news. Shurz also reminded travelers about Frontier's $499 summer pass that grants tickets to unlimited flights through September.

“We’re thrilled to be connecting those in the Baltimore and D.C. area to one of the most popular Caribbean destinations,” Shurz said in a press release. “Now is the time to escape to Puerto Rico’s fabulous beaches and stunning rain forest with convenient and affordable flight options via Frontier’s ‘Low Fares Done Right.’”

Passenger traffic has continued to grow since the COVID-19 pandemic. Airlines have responded by expanding their offerings from BWI Airport.
In late April, Icelandair increased to daily nonstop service between BWI Airport and Reykjavik. Air Canada previously offered once-daily nonstop flights from BWI to Toronto, but last week it started flying three times per day.
Avelo Airlines resumed its service between BWI Airport and Wilmington, North Carolina last Thursday. Spirit Airlines added a second daily flight from BWI to San Juan, Puerto Rico last Friday.
Copa Airlines rounds out the bunch with its upcoming new service from BWI Airport to Panama City, Panama. That route will debut in late June and offer connections across Central America.
Ricky Smith, BWI's executive director and CEO, is excited about all this growth.
