Home Tours Net $9,300 for Hospice of Chesapeake
The Maryland Green Designer Show Home was open for paid tours. It is now being sold, with proceeds to be split between two charities.
Tours of of the Maryland Green Designer Show Home in Gambrills resulted in more than $9,300 raised for Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Baldwin Homes presented a check Wednesday for the funds, which were collected from private tours held last fall.
Wednesday's check presentation was scheduled to coincide with the start of National Hospice Month in November.
The Maryland Green Designer Show Home was constructed with a unique eco-friendly design and materials. Private groups and individuals were invited to pay for private tours and events, with money directed to support the Hospice.
The home, located at 1760 Holladay Park Road, is currently for sale and valued at $1.4 million. All money from a sale will be split between Hospice of the Chesapeake and Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic.
Earlier this year, the green home was used by Make-A-Wish to host a "Princess Party" for a young girl recovering from cancer.
