Maryland Green Show Home Up For Sale

The house in Gambrills is now listed for $1.275 million. Tours of the home raised more than $22,000 for local charities.

The Maryland Green Designer Show Home in Gambrills is now up for sale after tours of the house raised more than $22,000 for local charities.

After spending months as a showcase for new energy-efficient design, the 7,000 square-foot home is listed at $1.275 million. Proceeds from any sale will go to support Hospice of the Chesapeake and the Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic.

The house, built by Baldwin homes, was designed and fitted with environmental consciousness in mind. "Green" elements included a special roof design, high-grade insulation and specially designed ductwork. The project was recently named 2013 Green Single Family Custom Project of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

The developer sold tickets for tours of the home between October and December of last year. The tours also served as a showcase for a number of local interior designers, who donated their time and items to decorate the home.

The house is located at 760 Holladay Park Rd., Gambrills. For more information, check out mdgreenshowhome.com.
