MD Route 3 Traffic: Third Lane, Walking Path Design To Be Unveiled
Designs for a third lane and a walking path along MD Route 3 will be unveiled in Gambrills. Here's how to see the plans and give feedback.

GAMBRILLS, MD — Plans to widen Maryland Route 3 and add a roadside path are underway in Gambrills.
Anne Arundel County residents can see the design proposals and share feedback at an upcoming public information open house.
Traffic has long been a concern on Route 3, inspiring a 2021 petition to fix the congestion. A month later, officials announced funding to design a solution.

Planners reached 30% of design completion last summer and expect to finish 65% of the design by this summer.
The open house is scheduled for Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Village Commons Community Center at Waugh Chapel, located at 1326 Main Chapel Way. If Anne Arundel County Public Schools activities are canceled or the snow emergency plan is in effect that day, the meeting will be moved to Feb. 25.

- Build a 10-foot-wide shared-use path along Route 175 East and Route 3 South.
- Reconstruct existing driveway entrances.
- Improve drainage and stormwater management.
