Sheetz Opening 1st Anne Arundel County Gas Station, Hiring Underway

LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, MD — Sheetz will soon open its first Anne Arundel County location.

The Pennsylvania-based gas station chain is known for its made-to-order food. Mid-Atlantic foodies have long debated whether Sheetz or Wawa has the better menu.

The new store will be in Linthicum Heights' BWI Business District at 1441 West Nursery Road.

The exact opening date has not been announced.

Sheetz is hosting a hiring fair Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the nearby Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 1510 Aero Drive. All job-seekers are welcome to attend.

Sheetz is hiring full-time team members for days, evenings and nights. These employees must work at least four weekend days per month.

Supervisor positions are also available for evenings and nights.

Base pay is $16 per hour for team members and $19 per hour for supervisors. The hourly wage jumps by $1.50 for shifts from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sheetz is expanding in central Maryland.

The company opened its first Baltimore County location in September 2024 in Middle River.

The Baltimore Sun reported that Sheetz "leased three acres of land in Bel Air to build a 6,200-square-foot store with 12 fuel pumps and a drive-thru that is expected to open this summer."

This will be Harford County's second Sheetz. The other is in Joppa.

Sheetz said it ranked ninth in last year's "Companies that Care" list by Great Place to Work and PEOPLE Magazine and third in the 2023 Best Workplaces in Retail list by Fortune. The business was also named a Best Regional Fast Food Chain by USA TODAY's 10Best Readers' Choice travel awards.
