Traffic Circle to Be Dedicated to Norm Myers

The traffic circle at Sappington Station and Annapolis Roads will be formally dedicated to longtime community leader Norman Myers. 

Odenton business leaders requested that the traffic circle feature a dedication to Myers, who has often been dubbed the "Mayor of Odenton."

Myers has been battling cancer for some time, but still has continued working as owner of Revere Printing/Alphagraphics in Odenton, while also attending Rotary Club meetings and serving on the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee. 

Claire Louder, who helped lead the effort on behalf of the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, said new signs will be installed in the coming months and there will be a dedication ceremony. 

"Mr. Myers’ record reflects a lifetime of public service in support of his local 
community and Anne Arundel County, a true example of selfless volunteerism," Louder wrote in letter to the Maryland Department of Transportation requesting the dedication. "He has shown by example what it is to leave one’s community a better place than you found it."

Sen. Ed DeGrange (D-District 32) wrote a letter of support for the dedication, and support from other local officials is expected.

Myers is a former president of the Greater Odenton Improvement Association and chairman of the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. He was also one of the original members of the town center committee.
