Keg Party at Hamilton Tavern Taps Natty Boh

After a 15-year absence, the favorite Baltimore beer returns on tap at Hamilton Tavern tonight.

Now owned by Pabst Blue Ribbon, National Bohemian beer, a.k.a. Natty Boh, has only been available by bottle or can for the past 15 years. That officially changed last Thursday night at Nacho Mama’s in Canton—and other area bars followed on Friday and will continue to over the next two weeks.

Pabst, under new ownership since last year, apparently wants to push the beloved Baltimore brand that had all but ceded its share of the market to larger competitors. Pabst plans a hefty regional expansion, according to reporting this week in the Baltimore Sun.

Hamilton Tavern is holding a Natty Boh Keg Tapping Party tonight, from 5 until 7 p.m.  The bar is located at 5517 Harford Road.

Our very own Emerald Tavern in Parkville also had the hometown favorite on tap for just $1.75 per glass, but they are currently out of stock.

“Just to give you an idea of how well it’s been selling, we got our keg last Thursday around four or five, and it was gone by Saturday,” said Renee Novotny, a bartender at the Emerald Tavern.

“Right now we’re out because they’re out of stock at the warehouse, so we’re waiting for them to get some in before we get our order,” she said.
