A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Two Parkville-area students have been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at the University of Scranton. Benjamin Turcea, a senior international studies major, and Stephanie Voith, a sophomore majoring in occupational therapy, were among the 1,380 students to receive the honor, according to a statement from the school. To receive the honor, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum of credit hours per semester, according to the statement. The University of Scranton is a Jesuit college in northeast Pennsylvania.

Benjamin Turcea and Stephanie Voith were named to the University of Scranton's Dean's List for the fall semester.
