Three Injured In Tuesday Evening Carney Crash

The drivers of three vehicles were transported to GBMC and Johns Hopkins Bayview.

Three people were injured in a four-vehicle accident in Carney shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Around 8:16 p.m. Kelsey Alana Beard Faniel, 28, was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on Joppa Road when she rear-ended a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 26-year-old Allyse Lynnette Hawley Algarin, which was waiting in the eastbound left turn lane at the intersection of Joppa and Magledt Roads, according to police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

That initial collision caused Algarin's vehicle to strike the left rear corner of a 2001 Dodge 1500 driven by 52-year-old Kendall Roy Shoats, Rogers-Feher said. Shoats' vehicle began to spin and ended up in the westbound lanes of traffic on Joppa Road, where a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Alfred Nehemiah Carter Jr. collided with it.
