As part of the Lindsay Dryden Speaker Series, Odyssey School welcomes Ric Lavoie, an internationally known expert on learning differences.
Lavoie will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Odyssey School, 3257 Bridle Ridge Lane in Stevenson.
He will discuss "the frustration, anxiety and tension that children with learning differences face in their daily lives," according to a news release from the school.

"His message is especially meaningful to families with children who work hard each day to overcome dyslexia and other language differences," it states.

Lavoie's books include "It's So Much Work to Be Your Friend," and videos such as "Fat City," which show what it is like to have a learning difference such as dyslexia.
He is an educator, motivational speaker and author who holds three degrees in special education.
He's been an adjunct professor or visiting lecturer at several universities.
The Odyssey School is a co-educational, independent day school for bright, dyslexic children from age five through eighth grade who have language-based learning differences.
