UMBC Set To Be Featured on '60 Minutes'

University of Maryland Baltimore County is set to be featured on "60 Minutes" TV show Sunday.

The feature discusses the school's efforts at "getting it right," according to a news release from County Executive Kevin Kamenetz's office.

The TV show will focus on UMBC’s Meyerhoff Scholars Program, established in 1988 as a select program for African-American males in science, math, and engineering, the release states.

“What a great testament to the educational opportunities and achievements that take place right here in our county,” Kamenetz said in the release. “I encourage all residents to view "60 Minutes" on CBS this Sunday and witness the national attention that UMBC has warranted.”

The release notes that the scheduling of features on "60 Minutes" could change.

It was originally scheduled to be broadcast on Nov. 6, according to the UMBC website.
