Runners Magazines Name Fleet Feet Among Top 50 Running Stores

Fleet Feet Sports in Pikesville made Running Insight and Competitor magazines' top 50 running stores list, according to a news release from the publications.

"The local retailer was recognized by a panel of industry experts for its outstanding service, product knowledge and merchandising," the release states.

The Pikesville business received the award Dec. 9 during a ceremony in Austin, Texas. Fleet Feet is owned by Bobby and Karen Levin.

Receiving the top honor was Shuh's Idaho Running Co., according to Competitor magazine's website.

The process of selecting the 50 stores began with customers nominating their favorite stores located in the United States and more than 150 nominations were received, the website stated.

The judging process included:

• An undercover-shopping rating by Franklin Retail Solutions, a retail merchandising company. Among the criteria was fitting customers for running shoes.
• A review of the store’s community involvement
• Input from the brands that supply the company

In Fleet Feet's newsletter, the staff thanked customers for their support.
