Island Quizine: Restaurant 'Opening Soon'

There's a new look for a building located across the street from Seven Mile Market, in the 200 block of Reisterstown Road. It's awash in Caribbean colors and advertises that it is "Opening Soon."

It's called Island Quizine and there's already one in Milford Mill, according to the website listed on the sign. It states that it offers authentic Jamaican cuisine.

"We pride ourselves in making your food fast and fresh when you order it," the website states. "From breakfast to main courses, we have the dining experience you crave."

The home page features photos of jerk chicken and vegetables.

And the menu lists appetizers such as coconut shrimp, jerk buffalo wings and calamari.

Breakfast choices include liver and kidneys, saltfish delight, porridge, and bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches.

All breakfasts come with tea, sweet plantains and hard-dough bread or fried dumplings, the menu states.

There are vegetarian dishes and lunch specials. The seafood entrees include curried and garlic shrimp, grilled lobster tail, sea bass, flounder and a variety of shrimp dishes.

A manager was not available for comment Monday at the Liberty Road restaurant.

The phone number listed for the Pikesville store is not in service.
