Pikesville Crime: Woman Charged in Assault Over Gift Cards, Pens

A Lochearn woman has been charged in the assault of another woman during a confrontation over $5 gift cards, according to police.

Police charged Lena May Janish, 64, in the incident at 7:35 a.m. May 23.

Janish "grabbed and pushed" another woman while trying to take two $5 gift cards from her, at Old Court Road and Scotts Level Road in Randallstown, according to a report by Baltimore County police.

Janish, of the 4000 block of Old Court Road in Lochearn, is accused of stealing four "various pens" from the other woman and also damaging the woman's drink or food.

Janish was charged with second-degree assault and theft, according to court records.

She was being held in the Baltimore County Detention Center. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24, records state.
