Chimney Fire Causes $75K Of Damage At Potomac Home

A Potomac family has been displaced after a chimney fire broke out in their townhome on Oracle Place.

POTOMAC, MD — A family was displaced after a chimney fire broke out in their Potomac townhouse Thursday night, officials said.

Dozens of firefighters responded to the fire at a middle townhouse at 7803 Oracle Pl. at about 7:15 p.m.

Firefighters found a fire in the void space of a pre-fabricated chimney in the basement, spokesperson Pete Piringer said. The fire in the walls spread from the basement to the roof, causing about $75,000 in damage.
