The Broadneck-Severna Park rivalry was evident before the game started, with a group of rowdy Broadneck student fans making sure the Falcons knew they weren’t on home turf.

The play was aggressive and physical from the very start and Severna Park’s players continued to play hard despite the score. Players from both teams had to be separated multiple times by referees due to  personal fouls and warnings from referees.

The game was interrupted briefly when the power flickered off, leaving players and fans in total darkness for a few seconds. Though the power came back on in the school immediately, it took a while for the gym lights to reach optimal level for play to continue.

With this win, Broadneck will now face the winner of the Great Mills/Glen Burnie game to be held Tuesday at 6 p.m.
