SPMS Presents Beauty & The Beast Jr.

From Severna Park Middle School: Severna Park Middle School (SPMS) presents the romantic and action-packed stage musical, Beauty and the Beast, Jr. The production will put on four shows: March 31st 7pm, April 1st at 2pm and 7pm, and April 2nd at 2pm. Tickets go on sale to the public on March, 17th for a special advanced price of $9.50, available at http://www.spmssings.org.

This won’t be your typical Disney tale of improbable love, transformation, and tolerance. The Spartan Lyrical Society, the non-profit theatrical organization that supports vocal, drama, and musical theatre at SPMS, has a new twist on the old classic. The story and stage are set in a retro- futuristic “steampunk” world that blends the Victorian era, the Wild West, and a post-apocalyptic steam-powered age. 60 Severna Park Middle School students are cast in the musical in addition to dozens of student tech crew and parent volunteers. More than 100 singers and dancers auditioned for the production in January.
